An evening of short member presentations on altcoins and what were then called bitcoin 2.0 platforms: the first wave of projects trying to use blockchains for more than payments.
The venue is the interesting part. IRIDIA is the artificial intelligence research laboratory of the Université libre de Bruxelles, and the group met there more than once. The university connection runs through the meetup's early history, when the ULB mathematics department was heavily represented among attendees.
Anyone was welcome to give a talk of five to twenty minutes on anything cryptocurrency-related. Pizza was ordered so that everyone could pay in bitcoin.
